Forum puts ‘community’ at the centre of mental health practice

August 16, 2019

The Victorian Transcultural Mental Health (VTMH) team has been working for over 25 years to address social inequality in mental health service provision.  The service promotes culturally responsive practices, exploring key concepts such as  diversity and inclusion.  This year’s Forum, Doing it differently: Putting ‘community’ at the centre of mental health practice was a showcase of their expertise, approaches and partnerships.

The day focused on making visible innovative approaches to support mental health that are having positive results.  All of the work presented was designed by community leaders, and in collaboration with local communities, as well as community health and mental health services.
