AAMH and Solomon Islands are working together to strive for a more sustainable community based approach, building on the strengths of culture and community in the Pacific.  The collaboration has focused on areas such as disaster mental health, human resource development, and community mental health system development.

AAMH and Solomon Island partners have collaborated on a variety of projects, such as:

  • Key partners in “Building community mental health through strategic public partnerships in Melanesia”, a project supported through AusAID’s Public Sector Linkages Program.
  • Participation in the Asia Pacific Community Mental Health Development Project (APCMHDP): Senior leaders have attended conferences held in New Delhi, Melbourne, and Bali.
  • Contributed a chapter in the APCMHDP regional publication titled Partnerships: Summary Report.
