Victorian International Education Awards 2014 recognises China Australia partnership

Today University of Melbourne received a commendation from the prestigious Victorian International Education Awards 2014.

Presented by the Minister for Employment and Trade Louise Asher, these Awards recognise and celebrate leaders in Victoria’s international education sector and the outstanding achievements of both institutions and international students benefiting from Victoria’s world-class education services

AAMH’s highly productive and unique partnership with Peking University Institute of Mental Health (PKUIMH) was highly commended for a demonstration of excellence in the development and conduct of a research partnership.

This 12 year partnership has resulted in the provision of evidence-based highly quality mental health services for almost 1 billion Chinese citizens as well as the establishment in April 2014 of the University of Melbourne-Peking University Centre for Psychiatric Research and Training. This Centre is facilitating the supervision of PhD research higher degree students jointly between the Department of Psychiatry, University of Melbourne and Peking University Institute of Mental Health.
